Russia is steadily strengthening its important position in the global vegetable oil market. By... By the end of 2025, Russia’s total exports of oil and fat products will reach 11 million tons, with sunflower oil exports accounting for 6.7 million tons. This was stated by Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut. Oksana Lut announced this at the 4th Global Grain and Legume Forum 2026, held in Dubai.

As the minister pointed out, Russia’s total output of oilseeds reached 33 million tons. Although this figure does not represent a new historical high, the cumulative output is sufficient to meet domestic demand and ensure a stable supply to international partners.

The minister paid particular attention to the transformation of the soybean industry. Over the past five years, Russia has shifted from relying on imports to entering the international market with products developed entirely through its own research and development.

Meanwhile, rapeseed production has been increasing year by year. The record-breaking figures for 2025 confirm the effectiveness of the strategy to expand cultivated acreage and boost rapeseed yields.

“We hold a leading position in the sunflower oil sector and plan to build on this success across the entire oils and fats category,” Oksana Lut emphasized.
