A Turkish agricultural holding company will build the largest oil-extraction plant in Central Asia in Kazakhstan.

Turkish company Tiryaki Agro is set to build a large-scale oil refinery in northern Kazakhstan. According to APK News, citing the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the international agricultural holding is implementing a major investment project in the Kyzylzhar Special Economic Zone.
The new plant will have an annual refined oil production capacity of 450,000 tonnes. It is expected to become the largest oil-extraction facility in Central Asia and a key player in the region’s agricultural processing industry.
The plant is slated to produce sunflower oil, rapeseed oil, and flaxseed oil, with a daily processing capacity of 1,500 tonnes of raw materials.
Investors point out that the region boasts a well-developed raw-material base and a strategic geographic location, offering convenient logistics and easy access to major markets.
The implementation of this project will deepen the processing of oilseeds in the region and enhance the export potential of Kazakhstan’s oil and fat industry.
Earlier reports indicated that Kazakhstan’s vegetable oil production increased by 17% over the past year, placing the country among the EU’s top three suppliers of sunflower meal.
